Claude developer Anthropic has disclosed its financial results ahead of a planned stock market debut.

Revenue reached $16.3 billion in the first half of 2026, compared with just $1.16 billion a year earlier.

But the company also reported an $80.7 billion net loss.

There is an important distinction: roughly $72.4 billion came from changes in the accounting value of convertible financing instruments, not direct operating cash losses.

Its actual operating loss was approximately $693 million.

The filing nevertheless highlights how complicated AI financing has become.

Anthropic spent nearly $9 billion on computing infrastructure during the first half of the year.

The company is growing extraordinarily quickly, but it continues to spend heavily to support that growth.
